Legal Watch

AKC’s Governmental Relations is dedicated to protecting the rights of all dog
owners, promoting responsible dog ownership, and ensuring that laws governing dog ownership and breeding are reasonable, enforceable, and non-discriminatory.

BRKC actively advocates for dogs and owners in our community/state. We endorsed a proposal to ban unrestrained dogs in truck beds while traveling on interstates. Obviously this is for the safety of the dog and fellow drivers. The bill made it all the way to the governor’s desk but unfortunately was rejected.

Member Carl Grotten is our legislative liaison.

Have you visited the Government Relations Toolbox lately? It’s full of great information to share with legislators, the media and others.
